Friends, I’m so happy today!
My photographs of snowfall in Shimla got featured on “Abhivyakti.”
If you don’t have idea about “Abhivyakti,” let me tell you that Abhivyakti is a popular photography blog maintained by none other than master photographer, Dr. Pankaj Sharma.
Dr. Sharma is an inspiration for me, and I’m confidant that you might have seen his work in any of the the popular photography magazines.
If you are a serious photography enthusiast, read no further. Just check out Abhivyakti.
And if you like the blog, that I’m sure you will, please don’t forget to thank me. ![]()
Through this post I would like to thank Dr. Pankaj Sharma for considering me qualified enough to be featured on his blog. Thank you for the honor, Sir.
Shimla is witnessing one of the best snowfalls ever. So, me and wife decided to go to the ‘mall road’, a popular tourist spot, and have fun. Here are few pics from that trip.
In this post, I shared how I got struck in the snow and had to quit few meters before the destination. I had to quit because I was ill equipped. Nevertheless, that short trek taught me many valuable lessons.
Here, I would like to share a list of essentials that can make your any snow trek perfect.
Weather in the hills can be very unpredictable. So a good, water proof jacket is a must. It will keep you warm, as well as protect you from the rain. If you don’t want to carry woolen cap go for a jacket that comes with an attached hood. While trekking your body will stay warm but the chill can hurt your ears, as well as the direct sun can cause you headache. So it is better to keep your head covered most of the time.
Don’t think that your woolen jacket has nice cozy pockets, while trekking you’ll often make use of your hands. So go for a decent pair of gloves.
Do you know why I had to quit my last snow trek? Because I had the wrong shoes. The snow would creep inside them, melt there, and the chill made my feet go numb. So buy a good pair of shoes that can keep your feet isolated from the snow.
